Notice: MYOB has been re-branded as ABSS with effect from 1st Jan 2018.

Recurring transactions in MYOB

Many business transactions, such as rent, telephone bills and Internet accounts recur periodically.

With MYOB, you can choose to save any transaction, including invoices and purchases, as a recurring transaction.

You can recall a recurring transaction at any time, adjust the amount, and record it, all with a few clicks of the mouse!

Recurring transactions can be set up from the following transaction windows:

  • General Journal Entry
  • Spend Money
  • Receive Money
  • Sales
  • Purchases

To set up a recurring transaction

Simply enter the details of the transaction and click the Save Recurring button at the bottom of the window.

To use a recurring transaction

There are two ways of accessing a recurring transaction, depending on whether you want to use the transaction as is, or whether you need to change the details of the transaction.

  • To use a recurring transaction as is:
Find the transaction using the To Do List (for example, to find a recurring sale, click the To Do List down arrow and select Recurring Sales). Click in the Action column beside the sale(s) you wish to record, and click Record. The date of the transaction will be the current date. You can also click on the arrow beside a recurring transaction and record the transaction from its original window.
  • To change the details of a recurring transaction and record it:
Display the transaction window used to record the transaction you want to use. For example, if you want to use a recurring purchase, display the Purchases window. Click the Use Recurring button at the bottom of the window. Double-click the required transaction from the list. Make the necessary changes and click Record. The saved recurring transaction will be updated with the changes.
