Financial assistance for SMEs acquiring or upgrading to GST compliant accounting software

Application for accounting software subsidy is open

Change in process of applying for GST e-Voucher.
Please see SME Corp's announcement on 10th Nov 2014.

The proposed incentive for SMEs to purchase or upgrade to GST compliant accounting software was launched on 1st June 2014.

Businesses can start applying for this incentive online at GST e-Voucher registration

According to SME Corp, registrations for the e-Voucher will close on 31st December 2014.

The Government has allocated a total of RM150m to help SMEs put in place the necessary solution to help them comply with GST

Criteria for qualification

  • Be registered for GST
    You can register online at Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia's portal Taxpayer Access Point.
  • Fall within the SME category/definition
    The broad definiton of an SME is as follows:

    Category Small Medium
    Manufacturing Sales turnover from RM300,000 to RM15 million
    or
    full-time employees from 5 to less than 75
    Sales turnover from RM15 million to RM50 million
    or
    full-time employees from 75 to 200
    Services & other sectors Sales turnover from RM300,000 to RM3 million
    or
    full-time employees from 5 to 30
    Sales turnover from RM3 million to RM20 million
    or
    full-time employees from 30 to75

  • Be at least 51% Malaysian owned
